Vapor honing restores the original the original bare aluminum finish & does not disturb the skin that forms on top of bare aluminum over time; a critical detail. Cases & heads are NEVER sand or media blasted. Those processes tear the surface of the aluminum & look great for a little while but eventually will tarnish. Vapor honing is a gentle process that does not tear the surface. It only cleans the surface.)

Brand new-from-Honda cylinder will have the sub-par factory-applied black paint stripped & high quality high gloss black engine paint professionally applied. (I note this because if you have ever bought a Honda cylinder you know what it looks like & you will note that the cylinder that you see on your restored engine will look much nicer than what you pull from a Honda box for a reason).

Magneto & clutch covers are stripped, filled, smoothed & professionally powder coated Honda “cloud silver” to match original finish.

Magneto cover bare aluminum HONDA logo centers are sanded, smoothed, polished, brushed finish re-created & cleared to match as-new.

All threaded holes are chased to assure they are clear debris & serviceable. I repair any hole that needs repair via heli-coil. This includes the underside threaded lugs for the footpegs. *Thread repair is additional & prices vary.

All parts are ultrasonically cleaned. Ultrasonic cleaning was originally developed for cleaning surgical devices in the medical field. My process assures that all parts are nearly sterile before assembly.

All engines are put through a series of comprehensive operational tests in my test frame. I assure one-kick starting, oil pressure, lighting voltage output, transmission operation & general operation. All aspects of the engine are assured & fine tuned prior to the engine being shipped. You will be installing an engine that ran perfectly in my hands. All you will need to do is bolt it in & fill with oil.

After 1000+ horizontal Honda engine restorations since 2001, the above items & processes are what I have arrived at nearly 100% of the time once completed. If I find new usable parts inside an engine where a repair attempt was made & subsequently abandoned, I will discount the work accordingly.

*For additional Specialty Services please see << Specialty Services Page >> and for further questions, please visit our << F.A.Q.
